In addition, the computers that run our Web site are protected by constantly monitored firewalls that act as a barrier between the Internet and our secure computer network – preventing unauthorized access. Every message that enters or leaves our network passes through the firewall. Messages that do not meet our criteria are blocked.

Virus Protection:
We employ up-to-date anti-virus protection technology to detect viruses and prevent them from entering our computer network.

Unique Identifiers:
To access your account and certain of our financial services on our Web site, including through Online and Business Banking, you will be required to enter valid access codes such as a customer/user identification code and password. Additional authentication measures for access through our online banking products are described in our Online Banking and Business Banking Agreements. Without proper identification, access to your account information is denied.

Timeout Feature:
For additional protection, our online applications have a timeout feature that automatically ends your session after a certain period of inactivity. This reduces the risk of others accessing your information from your unattended computer.

Additional Security Measures:
The Coastal Bank's approach to security extends beyond those mentioned above. We have additional security measures that may be activated in response to certain activities or events. If we are suspicious of any online behavior, we may restrict online access to accounts or prevent certain types of transactions. These measures safeguard your identity and your accounts. Further proof of identity may be required before online access is restored.

Your Password:
You will be responsible for maintaining one of the most important security measures: your password. When you receive and change your Online Banking or Business Banking password, be sure to keep it a secret. Memorize it, or write it down and keep it in a safe place. It is not recommended you carry your password in your purse or wallet. Make sure no one watches you enter your password and always close your browser when leaving the computer. Make sure you regularly scan your computer for viruses that could be used to capture password keystrokes. You ultimately hold the key to your password security.
